Drains do get blocked from time to time and there are many reasons why this happens. 

Roots can grow in between the joints of clay pipes or in broken pipes.

                                                  Blocked drain! 

Objects can get flushed down toilets or get knocked off the back of toilets in error.

Blockage !

Wet wipes are flushed down toilets and can get caught on misaligned pipes. 

Whatever the reason or problem with your clogged drain, Kernow Drains have 17 years experience in dealing with blockages.

Blocked drains are our speciality.  

Drain clearances are generally straight forward and majority of clogged drains can be dealt with using drain rods.

More stubborn clearances might require high pressure jetting, this is a last resort as the pressure of the water is fierce and can damage drains.

We do not recommend high pressure jetting on pitch fibre pipes as the jet can damage the pipe and cause more problems than you had before.

When an engineer is called to deal with a blockage, an assessment is made by opening manholes and understanding which area is holding the blockage.  

The blockage is then cleared and the reason the drain blocked will hopefully be determined. 

The engineer will then talk you through the cause and how this can be avoided.

Sometimes the blocked drain occurred due to insufficient water being used.  Understandably we are all watching the pennies and trying to save water but this can be to our detriment.  The advice here is to give a good flush at the end of the day.
